Rett Syndrome Awareness Month

Rett Syndrome is a neurological disorder that mostly affects girls. A child’s learning, speech and movement are some of the areas that are affected by this disorder.

Rett Syndrome presents many challenges, but with love and compassion, therapy and assistance, children with Rett, like our Elle Morton, can participate in school and community activities.

We want to raise awareness and money to accelerate the research being done to find a cure for Rett Syndrome. To show our support for Elle, one of our students, Olivia VanTol and her family have generously created beaded coasters. These coasters will be sold from October 26-30th. The donation amount is whatever you would like to give. Miss Doucette, Elle and Olivia will be coming to each classroom to sell the coasters.

We also want to show our support by wearing purple this Wednesday, October, 28th.

Purple is the designated colour for Rett Syndrome. So please join in helping to find a cure for Rett Syndrome—wear purple this Wednesday, and bring in your loose change to donate to the cause.

Thank you!
